Changing of the Guard at the Oppy

If you think juggling classes, assignments, group meetings (and perhaps even a private life) is quite enough on your plate as a Stern student, try throwing into that mix the added test of managing and producing a biweekly newspaper.


That’s the challenge that the departing management team for The Stern Opportunity newspaper have met over the past twelve months or so, and we think they’ve met that challenge admirably.


This issue we say good-bye to the departing editorial management team for the Oppy: Editors-in-chief Mike Wang  and Shaila Dani, and content editor Caroline Schimmelbusch. We’re also bidding farewell to the business team — business manager Tom Lee and advertising manager Kanan Bhatt — who have worked wonders running the newspaper as an independent business over the past year.


Those of you that remember the newspaper just a few years ago will know that it has dramatically improved under Mike, Shaila and Caroline’s stewardship. From its spectacular design to the excellent articles and features, the paper is a top-notch publication thanks to their hard work, and the new Oppy staff will do its best to uphold these excellent standards in the year ahead.


So, from everyone at the Oppy, a big-thank you to Mike, Shaila, Caroline, Tom and Kanan!
