Equal OpportunityFrom the moment we stepped foot on Gould Plaza during pre-term, the Class of 2010 has been our prototype for success. I’m sure you all remember being bombarded with myriad questions upon meeting any MBA1. “Where did you work this summer? What classes should I take? What was your study group like? What’s a derivative?” (Okay.

Opportunity KnocksIt all happened too quickly , didn’t it? Freshman confusion one year, Senioritis the next… it must have seemed like the blink of an eye. Chances are you have been extremely involved at Stern since pre-term 2008. From clubs to case competitions to Block Olympics to Beer Blast, you were there, becoming part of that Stern community about which we all heard so much before matriculating.

Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow...I knew we got off to a great start when I didn't have to take any of you to the hospital after the Pre Term boat cruise (seriously, and also one of the reasons I will avoid the Post Term cruise - don't mess with good luck!)! Even more seriously, I want you all to know that while you are leaving Stern you are not leaving the Stern family.

The Langone WordNew BeginningsWhether you are completing your hard-earned MBA or just completing your first semester in the Langone program, this time of the year deserves some time for reflection. Personally, this May marks the end of 2 semesters in the Langone program. While the Orange core helped make my first year memorable, I was fortunate to have countless opportunities to meet Langone and full time students during the last 6 months.

Graduation: The MovieIt’s that time…when saying goodbye is hard, but the prospect of a new adventure is even more exciting…a time when nostalgia laces conversations with memories of pre-term, Spring Fling, the boat cruise, and so on…a time when we can celebrate some of cinema’s best ta-ta-for-now tales of growing up and forever friendships.

SCorp InsiderFrom Freshman to SeniorEveryone who goes to business school agrees that the two years go by way too quickly. The first year you’re a freshman and the second year you’re suddenly a senior. As quickly as the last two or three years have been, it’s important to remember that your “MBA Experience” is more than just your time in the classroom, but also extends through the rest of your career.

Through the Lens of an MBAYou Lucky Dog, You! Consider Timing, Process, and UncertaintyGoodbye MBA, hello, real world. Through this column I’ve tried my best to impart the pearls of wisdom I’ve gleaned from this educational endeavor/2-year vacation, by thoughtfully applying them to other realms of life. As we look to new beginnings, it makes me wonder, in a paraphrased Tina Turner quote, “What’s time got to do with it?” How we frame the concept of time leads us to make drastically different decisions under the same circumstances.

The Foodie ReportA Classier Happy Hour DestinationLast week, the Foodie Report was invited to dine at West 3rd Common, a recently opened bar that’s one short block from KMC, to sample a few of the things on their menu. I’m not very big on bar food and to me bar food implies a lot of deep fried, bite-size, finger food type things.
