Future PTLF Leaders Headed in Right Direction

Greetings Sternies!

I hope the semester is treating every one well. I have many exciting things to report, so let me start out with all the latest things going on with the new Fall 07 kids. As I've mentioned previously, this is the first semester that we've experimented with having two core group leaders per core group. I must say I'm quite impressed with the level of dedication all you new CGLs are showing in regards to your event planning, team work, and keeping the masses informed through your weekly communications. Keep up the good work!

Now as for the rest of the Fall 07 kiddies, you guys are among the most involved bunch of students I've seen in quite a few semesters. -At the Langone Retreat there were close to 35 of you, whereas normally we get a handful of about 5 or so. -Also, I've noticed a bunch of you are attending Beer Blast regularly on Thursday nights (there's even been a study group that has their study sessions on Thursdays so they can be here for Beer Blast). I have also noticed a lot more continuing Langone students at Beer Blast this semester, which is excellent. Some part-timers are sometimes intimidated to attend Beer Blast for fear of not knowing anyone (although full-timers are friendly, they don't bite). If we keep up the strong showing I don't foresee this being a problem anymore (for the more timid Langone kiddies out there). -PTLF Director of Events Lisa Stringer recently held an events committee meeting where she was expecting only a handful of people. Lisa was very excited to report that close to 15 people attended, many of you being Fall 07 students.

Keep up the strong showing, guys! You guys are the future PTLF/SCorp leaders when the current boards are long gone!

In some other PTLF/SCorp news, I'd like to congratulate Todd Fellerman on becoming SCorp's Vice President of 1st Year Part-Time students. I am very excited to have Todd on the SCorp board with me to help further part-time causes within the greater Stern community. Finally, you guys have been hearing from both Lorne and myself that Charity ball is coming up. Full-timers, leverage your summer internships to get items for auctions, part-timers, leverage your current employers! Tickets to Charity Ball will be going on sale this week.
